Is Your Commercial Building Helping Or Hurting The Environment?

ENERGY STAR® was created more than 20 years ago as a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy. Since then, it has become a respected symbol of smart, ecological manufacturing, building, and design.

A high ENERGY STAR® rating goes hand-in-hand with lower utility consumption, more efficient technical systems and a more positive impact on the environment.

An estimated $12 billion in societal benefits can be traced back to the program by reducing damage caused by climate change, just in 2014 alone. According to the latest Energy Star annual report, greenhouse gas emissions have been reduced by an incredible 2.5 billion metric tons since the start of the program in 1992.

To put that in perspective, if you were able to gather every single human being on the planet and stand them all on a giant scale, they would weigh about 367 million metric tons. So the amount of greenhouse gasses eliminated through the ENERGY STAR® program is nearly 7 times the weight of the entire human population.

The savings are not limited to emissions either. There’s a very real economic benefit to the success of the ENERGY STAR® program.

Since 1992, individuals and businesses have saved an estimated $360 billion on utility bills by following ENERGY STAR® guidelines and using certified equipment and buildings. In 2014 alone, the figure was $34 billion.

How Does Your Facility Fit In?

As part of the Service Logic family of companies, Tolin Mechanical is proud to be one of the nation’s leading ENERGY STAR® partners with one of the largest portfolios of rated commercial buildings in the United States.

But it’s not about being the biggest or the best – although we’ll continue striving for that too. It’s about the kind of results noted above. It’s a matter of pride that we have the privilege of helping our clients save money and improve the environment simply by doing what we do best.

We live in the same areas where we work, so reducing emissions and saving energy is just as much a personal effort as it is a professional one. Looking back at the incredible results ENERGY STAR® has achieved in the last 20 years, we’re proud to play a role for buildings throughout the Southwest and Washington D.C. Get your building energy star rated today.
